A junco got close to me because I was sitting really still and sitting really quiet and it was a Dark-eyed Junco. It was a male because the males of Dark-eyed Juncos, they have a dark head and the females have a lighter head. The Dark-eyed Junco came close to me because I put bird food out.

  1. That’s pretty cool. I’ve been putting some bird seed out recently too, mostly it gets eaten by junkos. I was out of town this weekend and when I got back it looked like something had killed one of them.

  2. It is pretty exciting that you have had two birds come up to you real close. Great grandma has some suet out in a bird feeder by her house but no birds have come to eat any of it. I think it is because she has too many cats and the birds do not want to come.

I am sorry I haven’t seen your pictures sooner – but I was spending a lot of time with great grandma and then forgot to look at your stories. When I was talking to Uncle Jonathan tonight and looking at his blog, I clicked on the link to your page and saw you had some new pictures.

    Love, Grams
