Phoenix Buttress

I was a little surprised at how similar the formations at Smith Rocks are to those at Leslie Gulch on the eastern side of the state. When I was informed that the formations here were made of compacted volcanic ash called tuff, much like those at Leslie Gulch had been, I understood why they seemed similar to me.
