Ground Dogwood --(Cornus canadensis) (79933 bytes)

Ground Dogwood
Cornus canadensis

Apparently these ground dogwood plants were able to find enough sustenance growing on the bark of a tree trunk. I am not sure how the seeds made it there as the seeds are not dispersed by wind or explosive mechanisms. Perhaps they made it in the droppings of some critter.
