Scarlet Paintbrush
Castilleja miniata

In this picture it is easy to see the leaves of the plant. Notice that although the last couple of leaves near the top have small lobes, most of the leaves are not lobed at all. This is a distinguishing feature of C. miniata (as opposed to the other species of Castilleja found at Kamiak Butte, anyway).

Location: Kamiak Butte, Washington

Previous: Yellow Harsh Paintbrush (Castilleja hispida)
Next: Lemonweed (Lithospermum ruderale)
