Stumps

Although Blue Lake dam has been in existence for nearly 50 years, there are still stumps remaing from trees that were killed by the rising waters. It is interesting to look at how the roots spread among the rocks now devoid of the topsoil which once covered them.

Location: Blue Lake, near Sitka, Alaska
