Sand Spiral (What made it?)

I assume this is from some sort of burrowing worm. We did not dig up the small mound to check, however. A quarter probably would have just about covered the whole spiral (one of these days I will consistently remember to use the ruler I often bring with me).

Location: Sitka National Historical Park, Sitka, Alaska
