Chestnut-backed Chickadee
Poecile rufescens

This winter we have put up a couple of bird feeders. As a result, we have been regularly seeing 8-12 dark eyed juncos and 2-3 chickadees flitting about in the bushes and eating seeds from the feeders. I have decided to go out and sit close to the feeders to see if the birds will come close to me. The juncos seemed pretty wary but when the chickadees showed up a few minutes later, they seemed much less concerned.
