I was at the ramp to go on a pre-Christmas Bird Count walk. It had just started snowing when I noticed this heron that had not already flown away (and we were fairly close), so I thought it might be willing to let me approach close enough for a picture. It looks a little odd to me without its neck extended (as I usually see them).
