Harbor Seal
Phoca vitulina

We saw a couple of seals a little earlier on our hike, but they were a fair distance offshore and it was difficult for Connor and Rowan to see them. They both wanted to get a good look at a seal, so I suggested they ask the seal to come a little closer. Rowan got very shy at this suggestion, but Connor went ahead and asked. Neither of those seals came closer at that time, but they were able to see this one as it swam along the shore a half an hour or so later.
