Rufous Hummingbird
Selasphorous rufus

The main reason I made the trip to Beaver Lake trail was to try to get some pictures of hummingbirds. On the way up I heard and saw at least one humming bird. It was making the swooping 'J' shaped flight pattern that they are known for, but it seemed to be directing this towards a bird that was definitely not a humming bird. It appeared to be a sparrow, but I did not get a very good look at it.
