Alaska Mountain Heather
Cassiope stelleriana

The flowers of Alaska mountain heather range in color from white to pink. It is found commonly in the alpine areas near Sitka. Its scientific name is after Georg Wilhelm Steller, a German naturalist who studied the plants of Alaska while travelling with Bering's expedition in 1741.
