Frozen Falls

In this picture taken December 1996, I can be seen where I have climbed part way up a large mound of ice at the base of a frozen Indian River Falls. This picture was taken by Randy Nutting on a day he and I hiked up to the falls. The weather had been fairly cold for two or three weeks leading to the falls being almost completely frozen (there was still a small amount of slush falling and freezing almost immediately).

Scott Trucks took a picture of me climbing at the base of the falls a week earlier.
