Rappelling Off of Stony Staircase

Stoney Staircase is a nice fairly easy three pitch climb which Steve managed to lead in two pitches. Fortunately he had a 60 meter rope (typically they are only 50 meters) because by the time he was at the end of his lead, I had only a meter or so left to belay him with. This climb is good for teaching beginners about multipitch climbing and rappelling. Steve is seen here starting off on the first of three rappels to get down.

You can see the car we came in down between the road and the river at the right side of the picture.
