Digging Through Layers

Recent infrastructure upgrades have provided an opportunity to see what things look like underground. It seems that there is a 2-3 foot layer of volcanic ash underneath a layer of organic material. Beneath the ash is glacial till that would have been deposited during the last ice age some thousands of years ago, I think.
