Pacific Loon
Gavia pacifica

I somewhat uncertain about this identification. This bird was swimming not too far off the shore, regularly diving and coming up further down the shoreline. During the time I watched it, it went from the Starrigavan Picnic area (on the Mosquito Cove side) all the way over to the boat ramp side of Old Sitka.
