Common Snipe Body
Gallinago gallinago

The head and left wing of this bird were missing. I assume that a predator caught and consumed what parts of the bird were missing, but I am uncertain as to why the rest was left. There were no feathers nearby, so it seems unlikely that the bird was killed and/or consumed at this location.

Location: Westwood Trail, Sitka, Alaska
