Interested in College in Alaska?

Despite the name, females of this species are yellow. I never had noticed a crossbill in Sitka before this year (that says more about me than them), but I have seen lots of them over the last couple of weeks. They have been frequenting the trees near our house. Perhaps there was an abundant crop of cones.
