Minke Whale
Balaenoptera acutorostrata

This is the first minke whale I have seen. I am told there are fairly common around Sitka. However, they are not often seen because their blow is not nearly as noticable as their relative the Humpback Whale.

Location: East Channel, Magoun Islands, near Sitka, Alaska

Previous: Tufted Puffin (Fratercula cirrhata)
Next: Minke Whale (Balaenoptera acutorostrata)
