Peak 2890

On one summer day in 1995 I got my brother to give me a ride up to the top of Harbor Mountain so that I could hike around to Gavan Hill and then down. Along the way I took a detour back along Ridge 2890. This picture shows Peak 2890 as a small rain cloud blows over.

Though it is difficult to tell from this picture, this peak is surrounded by cliff on most sides. It is steep going to get up the side on the left side of the picture, and it is even steeper on the other side of the peak to continue on the ridge towards Starrigavan Ridge or the Sisters. I did hike up to the top of this peak without too much difficulty, though I did not feel comfortable trying to go down the other side. On top I found shells from a chiton (a marine animal), presumably carried there by birds.
