Stream Crossing
Stream Crossing
Our walk consisted of hiking up from the beach, going through the woods and coming back down to the beach along the stream. I had been walking bare-foot the whole time. When we got to the beach by the stream everyone decided to join in the bare-footedness. We walked up the beach aways and thought it might be fun to cross the stream. Some were concerned about the crossability, so I crossed ahead and though the pebbles were a little less comfortable on the other side of the steam, I didn't notice any other problems. With my assertion that everything was fine the others started across. I was surprised to hear immediate exclamations at how cold the water was. At first I thought that the girls were joking, but everyone else confirmed the opinion that it was indeed quite cold. I guess that as I had been walking around barefoot throughout the walk my feet and legs must have already become accustomed to being cool so I hadn't noticed.
