Death Valley
Death Valley
I am not sure what I expected Death Valley to be like, but even so, I don't know that it met my expectations. Most of it didn't look too dead, as you can see here there is a fair bit of vegetation. There is even a resort area with palm trees and things of that nature. Here you can see some sand dunes in the distance. On the way out of the valley we nearly were in serious trouble. The engine oil temperature light kept coming on as we were climbing the fairly steep hills out. We pulled over two or three times for the truck to cool down before we made it all the way out of the valley. It is a good thing it was still a fairly cool time of year.
