Bittercress Seedpod (Cardamine ?)
Bittercress Seedpod (Cardamine ?)
You can see that the seed pods of these mustards are dehiscent (they naturally spit open). When they got old enough it didn't take much of a disturbance for the sides of the pod to spring open (the rolled up side of one of the pods is still visible) and spew the seeds out. It was kind of fun to move my hand through the patch and feel and hear all the seeds popping out.

Location: Roadside
